Tour Overview

The Nepal Panorama trek takes place in one of the many undiscovered remote trekking places in Nepal. Most people are only aware of the popular regions Annapurna, Everest, and Langtang. This area is in central Nepal that is unknown to adventure tourists because it does not have ‘tea houses’ or ‘lodges,’ or trekking tour operators do not promote these areas. The Nepal Panorama trek is genuinely one of the best-secluded trekking routes in a non-touristic part of the Nepal Himalayas. This region is ideal for families and elderly adventurers, as the altitude doesn’t go above 2100 meters and daily hiking is 5-6 hours at a relaxed pace. This trek is also suitable during the winter months as the height is not too high (by Himalayan standards). You will be trekking in a part of Nepal with a rich history of how the last dynasty came to rule Nepal (be prepared for an unofficial story that is “hushed’). It is also one of the favourite recruitment grounds of the world-renowned Gurkha soldiers. We will operate this trip on a ‘luxurious’ expedition-style camping trek. We provide all camping equipment, porterage or pack animals, trek leader, assistant guides, a trekking chef, and helpers.

Highlights

  • Off the grid trekking – a non-touristy area

  • Best and most beautiful trekking places in Nepal

  • One of the most expansive panoramas in the Himalayas

  • Unspoiled villages of authentic Nepal

  • Socially distanced trekking adventure away from the crowds

  • Witness fading traditions and cultures

  • Expedition style Camping – the closest to Glamping in the Himalayas

  • We are the first and only company to give the option of ending this adventure by paragliding at the end of the trekking part.

Itinerary

Expand All

Day 1 : Arrive In Kathmandu

Location: Kathmandu, Kathmandu

Accommodation: Boutique Hotel

Meals Included: Dinner, Welome

Arrive in Kathmandu to be received by your trek leader and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 : We Drive To The Starting Point Of The Trek.

Location: Nepal, Nepal

Accommodation: Camp

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We will begin our drive early in the morning after breakfast. We will take the major highway that connects Kathmandu with the majority of the nation. We will be going west of Kathmandu with a stop at a historic part of the country where the last dynasty of rulers took rein. We have one more hour of driving from this historic place to get to our destination for the night. We have a total drive of around 7 to 8 hours even though the entire journey is about 170 km. Our trekking crew will have our campsite set up, and hot beverages will be served upon our arrival.

Day 3 : Trekking Begins Today.

Location: Nepal, Nepal

Accommodation: Camp

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We will be woken up with a hot drink in our tents by our team, followed by a warm water bowl for washing/shaving, etc. You will need to pack your duffel bags and vacate your tent before coming for breakfast. Weather permitting, the panorama of the snow-clad peaks is stunning. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, Boudha, Manaslu, and the Annapurna range are visible.

We start our hike with an uphill climb. We will pass a couple of settlements to Tuppo Bhanjyang 2100 meters in about 90 minutes after beginning our trek. We go westwards on a fair-weather road as we descent slowly amidst pristine agricultural land and small hamlets.

Our kitchen crew will “speed” past us and will be preparing lunch on the route. We will have a relaxed lunch before proceeding to our final stop at a Gurung village. 1630 meters. 6-hour hike.

Day 4 : Trek To Gumli Chowk.

Location: Nepal, Nepal

Accommodation: Camp

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We follow the same ‘protocol’ of getting woken up with a hot beverage, packing up before breakfast for the next few days of our camping trek. We descent for about 45 minutes to a small ravine, cross a Himalayan glacier melt river. This river is also a natural boundary between two districts.

We have a steep climb for about 75-90 minutes until we reach a Gurung village in the Char Thar area. Our hike continues on the fair-weather road till we get to our lunch spot, where our support crew will be making hot lunch for us. We continue trekking for another hour until we reach our stop for the night.

Day 5 : Trek To Journey. 6 Hous Hike

Location: Nepal, Nepal

Accommodation: Camp

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We begin walking this morning on a ‘flattish’ terrain for 45 minutes to a small stream. We start our ascent from the stream through Alders, Oak, Rhododendron forest. This is a lovely route to be hiking in a mixture of woods that is alive with birds and wildlife. We will get glimpses of Himalchuli and Boudha Himal today.

Our kitchen crew will stop by a water source to make our lunch along the trail once again. We will have a long relaxing lunch stop before continuing on our hike to our stop for the night. Our walk today is mostly uphill in beautiful surroundings.

Day 6 : Trek To And Camp At Nice View Point.

Location: Nepal, Nepal

Accommodation: Camp

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We start our hike on undulating terrain for one hour before we descend past some small hamlets. We will pass a school on the way which we can visit.

We have to ascend after the village school. Our kitchen staff will stop at a village to make our lunch. We continue to trek mostly uphill in forests or Oak, Lapsi (Nepalese Hog plum), Chestnut, and Rhododendron forest.

You will get to experience walking on village trails in the forest. The woods are ‘alive’ with several birds such as White Crested Laughing Thrush, Kalij Pheasants, and deer. Some villages say there used to be wild rabbits in the recent past too.

Our stop for the night is where the “Grand Panorama” of this trek is. Come on this trek and learn how broad the panorama is (we assure you that it is not common knowledge).

Day 7 : Enjoy The Widest Panorama And Drive Back To Kathmandu

Location: Nepal, Nepal

Accommodation: Hotel

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We provide you with an option of continuing to hike to the road head or with an opportunity to do a tandem paraglide flight close to the trek ending point. This is not the regular/standard paragliding part in Nepal. This is another unique experience pioneered by us.

The hikers will have three hour downhill hike and meet with the paragliders for lunch. We have lunch and drive back to Kathmandu.
We have a 5-hour drive back to Kathmandu.

Amazingly run Annapurna Base Camp trek

24-Mar-2021

I was planning a 3-person trek to Annapurna Base Camp over Xmas. We have all been to Nepal and received many personal recommendations from fellow trekking friends. Responsible Adventure came highly recommended by a friend who had spent some time living in Nepal and has trekked with them numerous times. The owner, Raj, speaks excellent English and hence, planning and booking everything was a breeze as he was able to offer many recommendations and advice, which was highly appreciated as we were working on a tight schedule. Chandra was assigned to us as the main guide, and I could not sing enough praises for him as he was very considerate, friendly and helpful all throughout the trip! Some little surprises (I should not spoil it) along the way was a bonus! We always felt safe with Chandra around to guide us. Our 2 porters also provided excellent service and were always cheerful and helpful. Raj happened to come along on our trip too, and his many years of experience was very valuable. This was especially the case when we had some hiccups with our flights (due to the weather!) on the way back. We knew we were in capable hands and just sat back and relax with our cup of tea while he sorted us out! The trek price includes all meals on the trek and accommodation in Pokhara and huts along the way. We love our food and must say that the meals were above expectations. I had fallen a little ill along the way, but the team was always supportive and ready to adjust to my pace. Perhaps the trip is priced slightly above the rest, but I think the extra added on value is definitely priceless. All in all, I thought we had a great trek and would highly recommend trekking with Responsible Adventures in Nepal if you have a chance!

Fantastic trip to Nepal

2 amazing treks

26-Mar-2021

We trekked twice with Raj at responsible adventures. The first time to Annapurna base camp and the whole trek was made special by him and his team. His English is fluent, and we soon were chatting as friends, nothing was too much trouble. The preparation for the trip was well handled, and it was reassuring that Raj was very responsible around safety and matters to do with altitude. He clearly looked after his staff, which again made the whole trip relaxed. En route Raj and his team would cook special meals. They always seemed to judge the timing of this to perfection, when we were tiring and needing a lift. Each morning was started with a cup of real coffee. Little luxuries like this do make the whole experience that little bit more special. When we returned to Nepal, to trek to Everest Base Camp there was no hesitation in choosing Responsible adventures. This trip was equally as good as the first and again Raj displayed the same professionalism. We actually trekked during the monsoon period when the tea houses and the paths are much quieter. Views of Everest were still stunning. However, at the end of the trip, we became stuck at Lukla due to fog. Raj again stepped in and ensured that we got back to Kathmandu safely and as quickly as possible. You do pay a little more than you would with other trekking companies but the quality of the whole experience was worth every penny!

Annapurna Base camp trek during New year.

When incidents happen, a situation occurs or someone gets sick or conditions get uncomfortable the mark of a good guide becomes apparent. How adaptable is the guide, how prepared, how solution-oriented? Experience certainly but also the priorities, whether the client's interest is truly the top consideration. In the extremely competitive Nepali trekking industry service standards are wide-ranging - which is less of a concern than safety standards. Except that service and safety are often tightly linked in Himalayan trekking in my opinion where weather changes in a blink of an eye and is never reliably predictable. Pre-trek advice counts as much as service provided during the trek. With Responsible Adventures and Raj, our questions were always promptly answered in great detail. Pre-trek advice on gear was particularly prescient when clear skies turned foul on the last 3 days - in the middle of the dry season. During the trek, I consistently felt that we were in good hands, from the experiences shared and awesome food prepared to the way our itinerary was revised day today taking into account both the weather changes and the physical condition of each person in the group. Great attention was paid to preparation and end to end service delivery from the time we were picked up at Kathmandu airport to the send-off at the same place. The experience as a whole was more than enjoyable - it was a fabulous holiday with beautiful scenery, newly made friends, altitude and weather challenges surmounted and overall, a fantastic trek.

Beautiful experience in Nepal

26-Mar-2021

Spending time in Kathmandu and trekking to Everest Base Camp with Responsible Adventures was one of the best experiences of my life. Raj and Chandra are the most knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating individuals I've ever met abroad. If you decide to trek with Responsible Adventures, you'll be amazed at how much you learn about Nepal, from the history and major landmarks to the flora and fauna of the country to the workings of the small villages you'll pass through. The guides are kind and laid-back while making sure you have everything you need/want, and really do make you feel at home. I can't say enough good things about Raj and his crew.
